01 · About Ðekawɔwɔ
Ðekawɔwɔ is a community mutual-support platform: it connects people who need help (an Ask) with people and organizations who can give it (a Give). The name comes from the Ewe words deka (one) and wɔwɔ (the making) — “the making of one.”
Ðekawɔwɔ is owned solely by David Ametorwobla. Bryan Chasko is a collaborator on the project, not an owner.

Ðekawɔwɔ is an independent project. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with any of the organizations or services that may appear in our demos, screenshots, or example content, including:
- Lady Volta Green Tech Academy
- Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary
- 112 (Ghana unified emergency number)
- 191 (police), 192 (fire), 193 (ambulance)
- Ghana National Fire Service
- any other organization, agency, or business mentioned in demos or content
Names and numbers appear only to illustrate how a real deployment might route or reference community resources. We hope to partner with organizations like these in the future, but no such relationship exists today.
03 · What we collect and why
We collect only what the platform needs to function:
At signup
Phone number or email address — to create your account and let you sign back in. Authentication is handled by AWS Cognito.
When you use the platform
- Location — collected when you drop a pin or submit a case, so a request can be placed on the map and routed to the right area.
- Case content — the text you write, audio you record (and its transcription), and any images or video you attach.
- AI classification metadata — the labels and severity ratings our models generate about a case, used to sort and route it.
We collect this information to receive your request, understand it, and route it to people and resources that can help.
04 · What we will never do
- We will never sell your personal data.
- We will never use Google Fonts or third-party trackers that leak who you are — fonts are self-hosted.
- We will never share your exact location publicly; pins are generalized to an area.
